Style requirements for manuscripts
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the style of the University of Chicago Press. The easiest source to consult is A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations (5th edition, University of Chicago Press) by Kate L. Turabian.
This book is available for sale at the Bookstore. It is also available for consultation at the front desk of the Miller Library and at the Writing Center.
For matters that are not covered by Turabian's guide, consult the Chicago Manual of Style (14th edition, University of Chicago Press). This is a huge work available at the Miller Library.
Use volume XVI of the WCR as an example.
The notes should be numbered in sequence throughout the manuscript, then gathered together and typed at the end of the text and labeled "End Notes." Look at a copy of volume XV to see how authors did it. Please do the End Notes as a separate file. Don't use the automatic footnoting because it has to be reformatted for publication.
No in-text citations.
List the Works Cited alphabetically after the End Notes. Again, see volume XVI for examples.
Thank you for your submission —
